Abortion: the Culture of Death

by Barbara Collins

David said in Psalms 139:13, Amplified, "For You did form my inward parts. You did knit me together in my mother's womb." Why have so many unborn lives become like unraveled knitting?
$254.4 million in
2002-03 from taxpayers
Since 1973, the Roe v Wade decision has generated approximately 46 million abortions totally or around 1.3 million abortions each year since that time.

Up until about forty years ago, the 2000 year old Hippocratic Oath led medical school graduates to say at their commencement, "I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception." The sanctity of human life is the Judeo-Christian world view. The original document of the Hippocratic Oath now states the above sentence minus the words, "from the time of conception."

May God help us as a nation for legally confusing such a basic tenet of our civilization. Because abortion on demand is legal throughout the nation, does that make it right? No! It never has and never will. Does a woman's "right to privacy" triumph over an unborn child's right to life? Do you know what the three types of abortion are? [to full article]

What if the Foundations be Destroyed?

by Gay Anderson

"If the foundations are destroyed, what can the [unyieldingly] righteous do, or what has He [the Righteous One] wrought or accomplished?" (Psalms 11:3 Amplified Bible) God is calling this nation back to Him; for in the beginning God! He breathed His life into Adam and he became a living soul. This nation, founded upon faith in Jesus Christ, is destitute without His breath upon and within us. Its foundation was built upon Judeo-Christian principles, and we see it laid waste, morally and spiritually. If the foundation of a house is destroyed, then ultimately the entire structure faces collapse. So if the foundations of a nation are destroyed, it too will collapse.

Joel's prophecy (Joel 1:1-7) is a picture, not only of Israel, but of our own nation. Our land is being devoured by a "heathen hostile" nation of locusts, illustrative of a human foe! New York City subways are being "papered" with Muslim propaganda; honor killings have found place on our soil, one presidential candidate states this nation is no longer Christian, but Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Atheist. Coach Dave Daubenmire, wrote this past March, "The problem in America is not politicians, but the pulpits." Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? No! Only Christianity can boast of an empty tomb and risen Savior.

Please Forgive Me!

by Charis R. Hart

"Everyone needs compassion, Love that's never failing: Let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness, The kindness of a Savior The hope of nations ..."
Mighty to Save- Hillsong United

Are you familiar with this Scripture? "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 While often taken as a call for corporate national repentance and seeking healing for a "country", I took that scripture very personally and believed God was ready, willing, and able to forgive me and heal my little corner of territory if I would humble myself, pray, seek HIS face, and turn from my wicked ways. I did, and He did, and He’ll do the same for you.

The Lord forgives me that- at age 17- I encouraged my 15-year-old sister to have an abortion and she did. The Lord, forgives me that when I found out I was pregnant with my 4th child--another daughter—I wished I believed in abortion because my husband did not want daughters. I felt guilty for years about rejecting my daughter for her femaleness. In a way, that was a reflection of my own heart, my own self-hatred of my own femaleness. Abortion deeply assaults a woman’s femininity. Abortion is one of the ways in which the vicious enemy of our souls ravages woman with whom he has been engaged in enmity since Genesis 3:15. In reading Katharine Bushnell, I had revelation moments about my self-rejection. If you would like to read more, see my comments on the following GWTW blog posts Eve’s Choice and Adam’s. Move over “TRADITION”! and In those days, it was NOT expected that a wife would follow her husband.

  1. How we welcome Charis R. Hart, our new webservant. Charis, steward of the GWTW blog, recently concluded a necessary and timely strengthening of GWTW's Abuse section. She's a writer par excellence which you may check out at the GWTW Blog.

  2. Dr. Carrie R. Miles has recently written a guide which substitutes for the present one "Male and Female in Christ," which we have on the website and intend to keep. It's called, "New Man, New Woman, New Life – Bible Studies on Marriage, Family, and Gender." Take a look at this new guide at New Man, New Woman, New Life. Better still, run off a copy for yourself as a gift from Carrie.

  3. GWTW Missions Ministry: GWTW pledges to be a system that works well.   None of us are “for sale.”  All money you give will not be “held up” for administrative fees but will go directly to the ministry for which you gave it.   Presently, we have proven contacts in the nations of Kenya, Nigeria, and Pakistan (more information coming soon).  In all these nations, women are mistreated, not only by the governments, but many times that prejudice shows through the Christian church. Won't you give to this Missions ministry of GWTW? You can do so on the lower-right-hand-side of the home page

  4. If you missed the last newsletter on A.D.D. in the body of Christ, click here for the Summer 2008 issue. Due to technical failure we lost our mailing list, and we didn't have it backed up. If you have happened upon this newsletter and wonder where your copy is, it is necessary for you to re-subscribe. You may do so at the "free newsletter" page.

  5. Should you desire an excellent curriculum on abstinence called "Priceless" by MariAnne Falls and Bethany Burkhall, please write to Shaunessy McNeely at Global Refuge (shau.mcneely@gmail.com). GWTW verifies the material, which is outstanding.

  6. Women of the United States, elections are November 4. Read about the very courageous women who fought for our right to vote here: "WHY WOMEN SHOULD VOTE!" Whether you vote Democrat, Republican, or "other" — remember to vote. Every time you do, history is being made.
